Florence Stark Bollinger, 78, of West Memphis, AR, passed away Monday December 29, 2008 at Broadway Healthcare in West Memphis. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until service time at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday December 31, 2008 at West Memphis First United Methodist Church. Interment will be in Crittenden Memorial Park in Marion, AR. Flo was born July 12, 1930 in Pine Bluff, AR and moved to Conway, AR in her teens. Her parents were Oliver H. Stark and and Martha Mitchell Stark. Her two brothers, William H. Stark and James M. Stark are both deceased. She lived in West Memphis and was married to Richard K. "Pop" Bollinger for 55 years. She had two children, Betty B. Veazey (Randy) and Richard K. "Rick" Bollinger, Jr. (Sophia) and four grandchildren, Nathan Scammerhorn, Katy Scammerhorn, Rich Bollinger, III and Lindsey Bollinger. Flo graduated from Hendrix College in Conway, AR and during her early years in Crittenden County, taught at the Hulbert Elementary School. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in West Memphis. At church, she participated in UMW, the Elizabeth Grubb Circle, John Mac Smith Sunday School class and taught Sunday School. Her many Civic and community activities included board member of the West Memphis Public Library for over 40 years. She was awarded the Key to the City in 2006 for her many years of service to the library. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Robert Crittenden Chapter. She was president of the local chapter of the Jaycettes in the 1950's. Flo's passion was golf, once scoring a hole-in-one during a golf outing in Florida. She was a long term member of the Meadowbrook Ladies Golf Association.
