Rodney Gary Sproul of Little Rock was born December 3, 1943 and died October 27, 2004. Gary began his career in banking at Worthen Bank in Little Rock. He was then vice-president of The Union Bank of Benton and from there a banking consultant for the John Floyd Consulting firm. He recently retired from Chenal Restoration and became self employed. He also was the owner and operator of Allied Fence Company.
He was a resident of River Valley Marina, where he enjoyed many close friends. The Arkansas River was the place he felt the most at home. He will be missed by all that loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Mildred Sproul and a sister, Ernestine Sproul.
He is survived by a daughter Ronda Shelman and her husband Larry; a son, Barry Sproul and his wife Tracy; four grandsons, Bradley, Corey, Dylan and Conner, all of Benton; two sisters, Jean Van Pelt of Little Rock and Lyvon Smith of Beebe; the mother of their children, Wanda Price and a former wife, Oleta Sproul; and many, many other family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 30, 2004 at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home Chapel (224-8300).
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Friday.
