Mabel Norman Treatof Stutgard, AR
April 22, 1916 - January 27, 2008
Mabel Norman Treat, 91, of Clinton, went peacefully to her heavenly home Sunday, January 27, 2008, at Stuttgart Regional Medical Center in Stuttgart. She was born April 27, 1916 near Big Flat in Stone County, the eldest child of the late Oscar and Minnie Norman.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 48 years Melvin Treat, three brothers Junious Norman, Hugh Norman, Remel Lee Norman; two sisters Irene Sutterfield and Willadean Norman.
She is survived by her daughter Vina Mayall (J.C.) of Stuttgart, two granddaughters Terry Simpson (David) of Stuttgart, Connie Hudson (Gary) of DeWitt, three great-grandchildren Cara Coleman (Brad) of Marion, Drew Jacobs of Jonesboro, and Patrick Hudson of Fayetteville, her great-great granddaugher Whitten Coleman of Marion, her sister Roma Stevens of Big Flat, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Mabel loved God and demonstrated this by the way she served her church, family, friends, and community. Her strong faith was evident in the way she conducted her life and in her interactions with others. She cherished the time spent with family and friends, who were her joy in life. She was a long-time member of the Clinton Church of Christ, Clinton Extension Homemakers Club where she received a 50 year membership pin. She was also a member of the Green Leaf Garden Club and enjoyed the fellowship shared at the Clinton Senior Citizen Center. She took great pride in her flower gardens and canning from her vegetable garden. When she couldn't be outside she crocheted, embrodried, and sewed.
Visitation wil be from 5:30-7:00 Monday, January 28 at the Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Clinton. Services will be 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, January 29 at the Clinton Church of Christ with burial at the Clinton Cemetery.
The family rerquest memorials be made to the Clinton Church of Christ, 1052 3rd Street, Clinton, AR 72031, or Senior Citizen Center, 570 Yellowjacket Lane, Clinton, or the donor's choice.
