Nora Ellen Spires, 78 of Springfield, AR, passed away on January 24, 2008. Born on December 31, 1929, in Corbin, Kentucky, she was a daughter to the late Elmer Creed and Ida Doane. Nora was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She worked for Levi Strauss of Morrilton and retired from the Conway Human Development Center after 17 years of service. She and her husband where owners of 92 Grocery at Springfield AR. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a son Billy Ray Sullivan, a grandson Ryan Penn Russell, two brothers: Robert Doane and Carl Doane, and a sister Ima Mae Harris.

Survivors include her husband of 55 years Raymond Spires, her three sons: Ricky Spires and wife Gerri of Overcup, AR, Ronnie Spires of Morrilton, AR and Randy Spires and wife Becky of Springfield AR, her three daughters: Barbara Jones and her husband Edward of Springfield, AR, Paula Spires Russell of Plano, TX and Tammy Lou Spires of Vilonia; 17 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are one brother: Ernest Ray Doane of Indianapolis, IN, and three sisters: Ruby Finley of Manchester, KY, Linda Hill of Phoenix, AZ and Annalee Deaver of Indianapolis, IN.

Services will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, January 28, 2008 at New Life Freewill Baptist Church in Overcup, AR. Interment will follow at Center Ridge Cemetery. Grandsons Chris Rohm, Robert Rohm, Lance Spires, Jerrad Spires, Justin Sullivan, Christopher Gonsurn, Jonathan Russell and Joel Russell will serve as pallbearers.
