Ellen Hardcastle

Ellen Dean Hardcastle, 80, originally from North Little Rock, went to be with her Lord on Sunday, December 2, 2007. She was born in Haskell County, Oklahoma, on February 22, 1927, to Louella and Addison Wallis. Dean moved to Vilonia, AR in 1992 and lived there until 1998. She moved to Russellville, AR to live with her daughter and son-in-law, Kay and Jim Allison, after becoming disabled as a result of an automobile accident.

She was a member of Bible Baptist Church in Russellville, AR. She was a faithful church member and read her Bible every day. She was happiest when she was cooking for her large family. She loved needlework, reading, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Stephen Hardcastle; her husband of 48 years, Willis Fay Hardcastle; her parents, four brothers, and four sisters. She is survived by her daughter Kay Allison and husband, Jim of Russellville, AR; her son, Dale Hardcastle and wife, Susan, of Greenbrier, AR; a "son-like" nephew, Tom LeCroy and wife, Karen; four grandchildren, Sean Hardcastle, Scott Hardcastle, Shannon Weber, and Sophie Skaggs; fifteen great-grandchildren; one brother, Harold Wallis of Barstow, CA; two sisters, Juanita Crumb of Sun City, CA, and Oleta Gilbert of Bakersfield, CA; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

The family wishes to extend their appreciation to the staff at Arkansas Hospice and her special friend, Jerri Haddix, for the loving care they provided to Mother in her final months of life.

The family will receive friends at Roller-Owens Funeral Home in North Little Rock on Tuesday, December 4, 2007, from 6 to 8 pm. Bro. Ron Kaufman, pastor of Bible Baptist Church and Bro. John Hamby of First Baptist Church of Vilonia, will perform the funeral services, which will be held at the funeral home on _Wednesday, December 5, 2007 at 10:00 am. Burial will follow at Harmony Cemetery in Mayflower, AR.

Serving, as pallbearers are Sean Hardcastle, Scott Hardcastle, Brian Weber, Galon Wallis, Preston Wallis, and Ted Warner. Honorary pallbearers are Stephen Skaggs, Tom LeCroy and Ian Carney.
