James David Goad, Sr., 62, of Conway, Arkansas passed away Tuesday, August 28, 2007, after a courageous battle with cancer.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 P.M., Friday, August 31, 2007, at the First Presbyterian Church in Conway, Arkansas, with Rev. Tim Reeves officiating. Cremation arrangments under the direction of Roller-McNutt Funeral Home, 801 8th Ave., Conway, AR.
David was born June 6, 1945 in Dallas, Texas to the late A.M. "Jack" Goad, Sr. and Mable Marie (Cole) Goad. He grew up in Dallas and graduated from Sunset High School in 1963. He married Gina Moll on May 14, 1983 in Stuttgart, Arkansas, and they enjoyed 24 years together. He retired from IBM after 30 years, working in Dallas, TX, Little Rock, AR, Tulsa, OK, and Southlake, TX.
They moved from Decatur, Texas to Conway, Arkansas in 1995, and for the past seven years, he had worked at Lowes Home Improvement, until he became ill.
David loved gardening and enjoyed sitting in his back yard watching the birds, the fish in his pond, and playing with the dogs. His sense of humor will be missed by ALL who knew him and he faced his last days with strength and courage, surrounded by his loved ones. He was a loving husband, father, grandad, brother, uncle, son and friend and will be missed by his family and friends.
David is survived by his wife, Gina Goad, of Conway, AR; two sons, James David Goad, Jr., and wife, Heather, of Weatherford, TX and William Goad of Conway, AR; two daughters, Shelley Goad and Kristin Goad, both of Dallas, TX; his brother, A.M. (Millard) Goad, Jr. and wife, Barbara, of Green Valley, AZ; two granddaughters, Megan and Brooke Goad; one grandson, Destin Patterson; and several other loving family members and friends.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
