August 3, 1942 - February 13, 2016

Carolyn J. Casey, age 73, of Lead Hill, Arkansas, died Saturday, February 13, 2016, at Hospice of the Hills in Harrison, Arkansas. Carolyn was born August 3, 1942, in Kansas City, Kansas, the daughter of Charles H. Allen and Beatrice M. (Hanline) Allen. Mrs. Casey was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John C. Casey; and her brother, Herbert L. Allen.

Carolyn spent the majority of her childhood in Linwood, Kansas, where she enjoyed barrel horse racing on her parents' dairy farm. She moved to Lead Hill when her parents bought the motel, the Twin Oaks in Diamond City. She enjoyed summers on Bull Shoals Lake, water skiing, fishing, and boating with her brother and friends. After graduating from the University of Arkansas in 1964, she became one of Lead Hills' most beloved English teachers. She relayed her passion to Lead Hill students, 7th through12th grades, for 34 years, eventually retiring in 1998. In addition to being a great role model, she enjoyed singing and playing piano, accompanying students and several churches in the area.

Carolyn is survived by her sister-in-law, Patti Allen; her nieces, Amanda Novak, Tammy Green, Kristen Smith and Megan Brueggeman; her nephew, Scott Allen; and many dear friends and adoring students throughout her community.

Carolyn was a loving and compassionate lady. She was a loyal friend to me through many years. She often spoke of her love for her family (husband John and brother's family), her animals, her home and the Lead Hill community. She will be greatly missed.

I was looking up the details for Angela Martin when I saw Carolyn's notice. She and her husband were wonderful people to the Lead Hill community. Carolyn played piano wonderfully and taught my sons English at Lead Hill High School. Precious memories. My sister's (Linda & Tom Halbmaier) family also send their condolences. I am so sorry for your loss. Losing a loved one in death is one of the hardest things you will ever experience. But the bible provides is with a comforting thought found at John 5:28,29 and it says "Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life, and those who practiced vile things to a resurrection of judgment." What an comforting God we have Jehovah who in the near furutre will bring our dead loved ones.
