James W. Mahan, 80, of Damascus passed away Tuesday, November 24, 2015. He was born Sunday, June 30, 1935 in Martinville, Arkansas to the late Coy W. and Maudie Herring Mahan.

He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Barbara L. Mahan; daughter, Connie Mahan of Martinville; son, Danny Mahan and wife Pamela of Martinville; 3 grandchildren, Jerod Fulks of Conway, Daniel Mahan and wife April of Martinville, and Kathryn Hooten and husband Rusty of Martinville; 4 great-grandchildren, Micheal, Wesley, Randi Jo, and Abigail Mahan all of Martinville; 2 sisters, Mary Ann Jennings of Morganton, Arkansas, and Mae Ruth Zachary of Byhalia, MS., also several nieces and nephews, and a host of friends who all loved him dearly.

James attended school at Martinville, Wooster, and Greenbrier. He retired from Nabholz Construction Company after 29 years of loyal and dedicated service. He owned and operated a small cattle farm, and loved hunting and fishing. His pride and joy was his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, his friends and hunting buddies.
James was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Joe and William Mahan; 2 sisters, Ruby Davis and Norma Bauldwin.

The family wishes to thank the Arkansas Hospice located in Conway. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to: Arkansas Hospice of Conway, 1105 Deer Street, suite 10, Conway, AR. 72032.

Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Conway.
