I knew Papa mostly from his frequent warm mentions in telephone conversations with the indomitable Flo Cato, my favorite letter-to-the-editor writer of all time. She adored him and 76 years together suggests he thought she was pretty swell, too. Which she is. My best to all the family -- all of whom she talked of as warmly back in the days that we talked regularly about politics and the baddies going after the Clintons. What spunk.

Cato was one of the finest Christians I have ever had the pleasure of working with. His light which led us and gave us joy now shines with the stars of heaven. My prayers for Flora and his family and friends only ask God to let us follow his example of love and work.

Fond memories of when you and Aunt Flora use to come to Lake Village to visit Papaw & Mamaw Hallman and y'all stayed at the LaVilla Inn. We enjoyed swimming in the pool with Kari and had good food and fellowship. May you rest in peace along with my Dad and God Bless you Aunt Flora.

Danny
I'm so sorry to read of your daddy's death. I think it's wonderful that he lived so long & hope he was able to enjoy it. Didn't realize you're an Only Child, like I am. It's sometimes tough, isn't it? Take care of your family and yourself. I guess I'll see you at our next reunion!
