Gertrud ''Trudel'' Katharina Mills, age 77, of Ward, AR passed away peacefully Sunday, November 15, 2015 at her home. She was born to the late Johann Paulus and Margaretha Mayer Paulus on September 25, 1938 in Boppard, Germany. She was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Cabot and a homemaker.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of over fifty years, Donald William Mills.
Survivors include her daughter, Eva Sawyer and husband, Dwayne of Crossville, TN; two sons, Richard Mills and wife, Gabriell of Benton and Michael Mills of Ward; five grandchildren, Remy Sawyer of Tarpon Springs, FL, Perry and Anastasia Mills of Benton, and Brittany and Zachary Mills of Jacksonville, FL; three sisters, Anemie Parnac of Germany, Elisabeth Gaudey of France, and Margaret Bungener of Germany; one brother-in-law, Richard Mills of Saugus, MA; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
A celebration of life is scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Thursday, November 19, 2015 at Our Savior Lutheran Church 301 S. Pine Street in Cabot with Rev. Daniel McDougall officiating under the care of Roller-Ballard Funeral Home in Benton (501-315-4047). Interment will follow at Old Austin Cemetery in the Old Austin Community in Lonoke County. Serving as pallbearers will be Michael Mills, Richard Mills, Dwayne Sawyer, Perry Mills, Mike O'Connor, and Tate O'Connor.
The family will receive friends an hour prior to service time at the church.
