Richard Joseph Collins, 74, of Quitman passed away on October 15, 2015. He was born June 9, 1941 in Farmington, DE to the late James Collins and Dorothy Passwaters Collins. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Merle Collins and Jimmy Collins.
Richard worked as a welder/pipe-fitter for over 40 years. He was an avid sportsman and a multi-talented guitar player.
He is survived by a son, David Collins (Bonnie) of Redfield; daughter Teresa Skudlark (Robert) of Greenbrier; one sister, Shirley Ritter of Joplin, MO; brother-in-law, Duane Daves of Quitman; former spouse Dean Collins of Greenbrier; six grandchildren, O.D. Skudlark, William Goudy, Terry Skudlark, Ragan Skudlark, Ali Skudlark, and Wynn Skudlark; one great- grandson, Braylynn Skudlark; and several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Greenbrier at 3 p.m. on Sunday, October 18, 2015. Visitation with family will be held one hour prior to service.
Richard was an amazing man. Love him very much. He reminded me of my dad. They were very much a like. Love you
Ms. Dean, Teresa, and family, I am so sorry for your tremendous loss. I have so many good memories of Richard and I will cherish them always. Thinking of you all as you go through this difficult time.
