Barbara N. King of Conway passed away Friday, October 2, 2015 at Conway's Heritage Living Center. She was born Wednesday, August 16, 1933 in Lake Village, Arkansas to the late William C and Nanny Mae Yearian.
Barbara is giving her body to the University of Arkansas for Medical Science in Little Rock. She was a member of Conway Central Baptist Church. She was a graduate of Lake Village High School. After graduation she began working for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. She loved working with the public.
On May 11, 1954 she married Allen W. King who worked for a natural gas pipeline company. During his career the family moved six times. Barbara and Allen both retired in 1994. She was a good partner in his career.
She was a good mother to three sons, Allen Wayne, Jr., Thomas Michael and William Bruce. She was a stay at home mother when the boys were in school. She enjoyed cooking and housework when she was first married. After the boys graduated she owned and operated a children's clothing store and managed a home and business decorating office.
She is survived by her husband Allen W. King, Sr.; her three sons; two brothers; a daughter-in-law; and two nephews.
