Lyla B. Lockhart , 78, of Conway went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 30, 2015. She was born on November 5, 1936 in Arkadelphia to the late Lyle and Vivian Brown.

Lyla earned a Bachelor's Degree in Home Economics from Henderson State University. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. She enjoyed cooking, quilting, and reading and was also an avid Arkansas Razorback fan. Lyla loved her family and was an amazing wife, mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Jim Lockhart; two sons, Lyle Lockhart (Jana) of Conway, Clay Lockhart (Ava) of Allen, TX; a daughter Shalah Honeycutt (Steve) of Hope; a sister Phala Riffel (Ed) of Little Rock; brother-in-law Vernon Lockhart (Louise) of Forrest City; four grandchildren, Chris McJunkins (Nikki), Katy Thessing, Michael Lockhart, and Cyle Honeycutt; four great-grandchildren, Kassidy, Macy, Kinley, and Luke; and nieces Ashley and Laura; great-nieces Natalie and Allison; and nephews Brent and Jim; and great-nephews Sam and Jack.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 3, 2015 at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Conway.

I have so many wonderful memories of Ms. Lyla growing up. She had the most beautiful smile and the most infectious laugh. My thoughts and love to Mr. Jim, and your family.
