Bobby Ray ''Hickory Nut'' Mayfield, 78 of Coal Hill, passed from this life Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at his home surrounded by his family. Mr. Mayfield was born July 3, 1937 in Hunt to Mr. Roy Lee and Vuna Vesta (Robinson) Mayfield. Bob was an over the road truck driver for over 33 years, and he loved to spend time with his family, and grandchildren. Mr. Mayfield is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Roy Cecil Mayfield, and Billy Wayne Mayfield; and one sister Greta Sue Martin.
Mr. Mayfield is survived by his wife of 32 years, Nancy Lou Mayfield; three daughters, Judy Kolb of Owensville, MO., Jana Vandergriff of Ashland, MO., and Vicky Mayfield of Hartman; three sons, Johnny Ray Mayfield of Springfield, MO., Bobby Darrell Mayfield of Owensville, MO., and Robert Ray Mayfield of Hartman; 10 grandchildren, 17, great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation for Mr. Mayfield will be 1:00 2:00 P.M. Saturday, September 26, 2015 at the Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside services will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, September 26, 2015 at the West Mt. Zion Cemetery, with Bro. Gerald Morris officiating. Pallbearers will be, Ronnie Mayfield, Randall Mayfield, Gary Edwards, Janson Mayfield, Jordan Mayfield, and Ron Mayfield. Honorary pallbearers will be, Johnnie Sanders, Rick Mayfield, Cody Hachett, Josh Smith, Bobby Hachett, and Allen Walker.

I had the privilege of getting to know this man, from my many years of working at the store in Coal Hill, he was a kind man....I know he is going to be miss by all of the people that he touched during his life here on earth..my thoughts and prayers go out to this family during this time of sorrow and grieve...but he received the most wonderful reward..walking the streets of gold, no sickness or sorrow...RIP Hickory Nut
