of Marion, AR

February 10, 1946 - August 30, 2015

Larry Ellis Jackson of Marion, AR, passed away on Sunday, August 30, 2015 at Baptist Memorial East Hospital, Memphis, TN. Larry was born February 10, 1946 to the late Ira and Thelma Jackson of Leachville, AR.

Larry is survived by Mittie Jackson, his beloved wife of 49 years; his ''Darlins'' and ''Bubba'' (three children): Michelle (Joe) Caracci of Wentzville, MO, Bryan (Kim) Jackson, of Marion, AR, and Angela (Stephen) Pardy, of West Memphis, AR; his ''Little Darlins'' (six granddaughters): Amanda Caracci (Joe Starke), Kassidy Pardy, Alex Pardy, Kersten Jackson, Alyssa ''Bree'' Pardy and Abby Jackson; three siblings: Jerry Jackson of Gosnell, AR, Steve (Terry) Jackson of Hot Springs, AR, and Joy Jackson of Leachville, AR; nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, great-nieces and great-nephews, along with many friends whom he also considered family.

Larry grew up in Leachville, AR, attending Leachville High School; received his Associates Degree from Arkansas State University. He served in the Army Reserve until 1969. He had a rewarding career as an Arkansas State Trooper for 32 years, considering some of his co-workers his dearest friends.

More than anything else, Larry preferred to spend time with those he loved: his family and friends. They were his heart!

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 3, 2015 from 10:00-11:00am at First Baptist Church of Marion. Funeral service will be at 11:00am with burial immediately following at Crittenden Memorial Park.

I am sorry to hear about Larry's passing. I did not know until a few days ago. I worked for several years with Larry, I always liked him and respected him. He was always a barrel of fun when he was around Hdqts and had a chance to visit with everyone. He was a good trooper and had the love and respect of his co-workers...My condolences to the family. RIP friend .

Deepest sympathy to the family of my classmate and friend, Larry. I don't think I've seen him since we graduated over 50 years ago, but I've never forgotten him. May God grant you comfort at this time.

Larry's brother Steve has been a part of MY family by virtue of marrying my sweet niece Terry. Steve's love of family had to have been learned growing up, and I heard he and Terry talk about Larry many, many times. The Wilson family will remember all of you in our prayers. I suspect he has much in common with Steve, and you will have loving memories and funny stories to hold onto until you join him again one day.

We are sorry for your loss of Larry. Isaiah 25:8 tells us that Almighty God will abolish death forever and wipe away tears from all faces. The comfort, hope and abundant guidance in God’s Word can help now and always.

Larry was a good friend. Worked with him for several years when I was stationed in West Memphis, and we also lived next door to him in Marion. He helped me sell my house when we moved to Texarkana. Larry was an excellent trooper, and you could always count on him to be there for you... You are going to be missed by so many...
