Jesse Lee Buie, 84, of Sulphur Rock, died Saturday, August 15, 2015, at White River Medical Center in Batesville.

He was born in Batesville, Arkansas on Wednesday, May 6, 1931 and was the son of Mark and Reba (Roland) Buie.

He was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force and was a member of the American Legion. He was a retired truck driver having worked for Ideal Baking and Dowell Trucking.

Survivors include his wife, Carolyn (Isley) Buie of Sulphur Rock; sons, Don Buie and wife, Tonya, of Caldwell, ID, Johnny Buie and wife, Sandra, of Trumann, AR, and Jerry Buie and wife, Pam, of Batesville, AR; a daughter, Cynthia Mason and husband, Gerald, of Mountain View, AR; eight grandchildren Kathleen Hine of Boise, ID, Diana Buie of Caldwell, ID, Leslie Mason, Christopher Mason, and Rebecca Mason all of Mountain View, Courtney Christy and husband, Kenny, of Jonesboro, AR, Nathan Buie and Jonathan Buie both of Trumann; four great-grandchildren, Emma Hine, Aden Hine, Chloe Hine, and Sophie Christy; and a sister, Leona Mattoon of Peoria, AZ.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Jimmy Buie; four brothers, Troy Buie, Virgil Buie, James Buie, and George Buie; and two sisters, May Lou Buie and Betty Sue Fischer.

Pallbearers will be Jerry Buie, Johnny Buie, Don Buie, Nathan Buie, Jonathan Buie, and Kenny Christy. Honorary pallbearers are Ed and Sharon Dunnem, John and Zelpha Bates, and Barry and Sandra Hammer.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Roller-Crouch Chapel with Bro. Daniel Stephens officiating. Burial will follow at Mack's Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Thursday prior to the service.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
