Everett Eugene Wilson was born 8/15/40 to Robert Frederick Wilson and Nellie Pearl Sparks. He passed away on 8/15/15 at the age of 75. He was preceded in death by two sons, Earl Eugene Wilson & William Ferlin Wilson, 2 brothers, Glen Edward Wilson and John C. Wilson, 2 sisters Virginia Mae Chandler and Emma Sue Doyon.
Everett (Gene) leaves behind 4 daughters Beverly Diane Wilson of West Memphis, AR, Novietta Lynn Turner of West Memphis, AR, Sherry Sue & Francie Lorraine and 1 son Rocky Joe, 2 brothers Jerry Wayne Wilson (Joyce) of Texarkana, AR and Phillip Dan Wilson (Mary) of Russelleville, AR, 3 sisters Dorothy Louise Slaten (Albert) of Texarkana, AR, Brenda Lorraine Downs of Potts Camp, MS and Phyllis Ann Malone of Hope, AR, 5 grandchildren Earl Eugene Wilson, Jr. of Lawrence, KS, Jeremy Wayne Wilson of Lawrence, KS, Curtis Wayne Wilson of Council Bluff, IA, Christian Eugene Smith Wilson of West Memphis, AR and Gabriel Cantu`of Memphis, TN, Angela Jones (Dustin) of Kansas, and Crissy; 11 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and a daughter in law Cheryl Miller Wilson, along with many friends.
Mr. Wilson served in the Army during Vietnam and was a member of the V.F.W., American Legion and 40 et 8. After his service for our country, he primarily was a truck driver. On one of his many hauls, Gene saved a person's life. At the time, he didn't know who. He saw an accident, stopped and got out of the cab of his truck and rushed to the scene. Gene knew he had to act quickly to help the motorist. He saved this man's life and the man was former Governor Kirk Fordice of Mississippi! Mr. Wilson was asked to the Governor's Mansion and personally met with the former Gov. Fordice and his wife, former First Lady Pat Fordice and received recognition for his bravery.
When Gene wasn't on the road and working, he enjoyed fishing, wood working, shooting pool, singing karaoke, playing the keyboard or harmonica, and spending time with family and friends.
