George Veldon "Bill" Jackson, 91, of Holland, Arkansas, parted this life on Friday, August 14, 2015 at Salem Place Nursing Center. He was born November 28, 1923 in Holland, Arkansas, a son of the late George W. Jackson and Maggie (Smith) Jackson. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Julia Mae Jackson; his brother, Len Jackson; a sister, Amanda Ruth Jackson; and his grandson, David Wesley Jackson.
Mr. Jackson was a member of the Shepherd's Chapel Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and, most of all, caring for his family. He served his Country in the U.S. Army European Theater of Operations during World War II.
He is survived by a daughter, Connie Faye Perkins (husband Bruce) of Morrice, Michigan; a daughter, Yvonne Higdon of Pontiac, Michigan; a son, Clifford Paul Jackson (wife Denise) of Saint Charles, Michigan; a son, David Lee Jackson of Holland, Arkansas; a sister, Barbara Ann Bryant (husband Joe) of Holland, Arkansas; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, August 17, 2015 at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Greenbrier (501) 679-2575, with interment following at Oakland Cemetery in Holland.
