Nona Lucille (Grubbs) Wilkerson entered into the glory of our Lord on Saturday, July 25, 2015 at the age of 92 surrounded by family. She was beloved by all who met her and is greatly missed. Born in Rose Bud, Arkansas on October 3, 1922 to Hampton and Isabelle Johnson Grubbs, she graduated from Rose Bud High School. She moved to Searcy, Arkansas in 1940 where she met late husband Melvin Wilkerson in 1945 and they wed on January 18, 1946. Nona retired from 35 years of service to Pyatt and Company in 1987. Upon retirement, Nona began serving as a full-time volunteer to the Searcy community through Carti/Searcy Auxiliary and Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. Nona joined First United Methodist Church at the age of 16 and was a life-long member. She was a faithful participant of United Methodist Women, Fulbright Sunday School class, several committees, and volunteered weekly at the Thrift Shop.

Nona is survived by nephew Kelton Grubbs (Sandy) of Hot Springs, nephew Robert Grubbs (June) of Ft. We grew up together in Searcy where everyone knew each other. She was a great lady - always and was a friend to all. She worked at Security Bank across from Robertson''s Drug store where I worked.
She will be missed by many

Bob and I feel privileged and blessed to have known Nona all of our lives. She was one of the sweetest, calmest, and caring persons we've ever known. She was beautiful inside and out. She will certainly be missed: now who can I call on, when I need to remember something about Searcy in the good old days?
We enjoyed taking her to lunch whenever we were in Searcy.....
If anyone is in heaven, it is Nona.
