Sending my most sincere sympathies to the family of Alvin and Winnie. Alvin was my Dad's first cousin and he thought a lot of Alvin. They were related through James H. Payne of Damascus and your grandfather, Floyd. My mother, Lula Payne, also sends her sympathies to Winnie and the family.

Dear Dan and Family..So sorry to hear about Mr.Alvin..He was one of the most sincere and honest men I ever knew..He is one reason I am in church today. He would come see me when I was milkng cows and ask in a way that only he could to come to church. He just kept on asking and inviting. One day I said yes and he and everyone else welcomed me and loved me that first Sunday morning at the Legion Hut...I will always be thankful he loved me enough to keep after me...Mr.Alvin is at home in heaven and I am confident he was told good job for he truly has been a faithful and good servant...You all will be in our thoughts and our prayers..
