I only knew Stephen for a short time but during that time I was honored to work with him and become friends. I pray that God will provide his abundant peace for all and that he will surround Stephen's family with love and grace during this most difficult time.

I would call Steve, “Professor Johnson”. Partly as a jocular jab at his pedagogical delights and partly due to the enormous respect I had for his professional knowledge. He might have regarded me as a fellow nerd but he was much smarter. He took delight tinkering around and solving the more difficult problems. When I would ask him the usage of a UNIX command, with he would pick up a marker, draw in a deep breath and explain not just the function but gleefully launch into the evolutionary history of the command across the decades. His intelligence did not get in the way of the kindness with which he would patiently repeat arcane topics. Always dependable, he never failed when I needed him.

I will miss him with the consolation that this kind and passionate man cannot be anywhere but in a much better place.

Stephen was a friend and a coworker. You could ask Steven anything about IT and if he knew it he would tell you, if he did not know it he would step away for a while then he would come back with the answer. I am a better person for having worked with Stephen. He will be missed. Rest in Peace my friend.

Stephen was my friend and mentor. He had more computer knowledge than anyone I have ever known, and was more than willing to share it. He worked hard and gamed hard, and lived his life on his terms. I am a better IT person for having worked with him, but he has left some very big shoes to fill. He will be sorely missed and fondly remembered. Rest in Peace, Stephen... and I'll try to not let you down.

Dear Family and friends. I am so sorry for your loss. Along with the pain come many questions. Job in the Bible asked,"If a man dies, can he live again"? Job 14:14,15. The answer is yes! We can have the hope of seeing our loved ones again, right here on earth.
