Georgia Duren Thompson, 79, of Maryville, Tennessee passed away May 16, 2015 in Maryville. Mrs. Thompson was born March 24, 1936 at Turkey Scratch, Arkansas to the late Robert E. Lee Duren and the late Sally Hammons Duren. She was a member of the County Line Baptist Church in Marvell, Arkansas and retired from the U.S. Postal System.
Mrs. Thompson is survived by one son, Glenn Dale Thompson (Linda) of Maryville; three daughters, Darlene A. Shufelt of Austin, Arkansas, Shirley Danette Spickard (Richard) of Bauxite, Arkansas and Amy Dionne (Danee Wise) of Beebe, Arkansas; eight grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; three sisters, Shirley Woods of Paris, Arkansas, Barbara Dillard of Charleston, Arkansas, and Robin Lynn Howard of Fort Smith, Arkansas; aunt, Eunice Godfrey; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Ben Duren; and sister, Bernice Yancey.
Graveside services for Georgia Duren Thompson will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at Sunset Memorial Park in West Helena, Arkansas.
Services will be directed by Roller-Citizens Funeral Home, West Helena (870) 572-2571.

So sorry to hear about Georgia. I will always remember her with her beautiful blonde beehive and gorgeous blue eyes. Met Darlene when we both were in the 9th grade of high school and spent lots of happy hours together.

I do wish you would take us up on our invitation to come and rest a little. Friday is our 11th anniversary, and it would be great to have our best man and maid of honor with us. I have the video, too.

I did not know Ge Ge well but do know she was a very nice lady, we have had a good laugh every time we were together! losing your mom is a very sad experience and You will always remember Her forever! I still think about calling mine and wanting to either ask or tell her something and its been sixteen years. You all have my Sincerest Sympathy.
