Vernon Harold Swaim, 84, of Batesville died Tuesday, May 12, 2015, at his residence.
He was born February 2, 1931, in Batesville, the son of Tye Monroe Swaim and Alma Ruth Teague Swaim.
He retired as a maintenance supervisor at Batesville Lime. He enjoyed playing the guitar and watching old westerns. He loved having family around, especially time spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Joan Howard Swaim of Batesville; two sons, Terry Swaim and his wife, Jane, of Batesville and Scott Swaim and his wife, Lucienne Mochel, of Riverview, Florida; a daughter, Deborah Keller and her husband, Joe, of Batesville; nine grandchildren; Nicole Swaim, Tye Swaim, Joseph Swaim, Adam Swaim, Phynia Swaim, Jerenne Swaim, Cheryl McKellar, Mark Keller and Daniel Keller; four great-grandchildren, Lance Edgin, Heath Gentry, Hailie Keller and Elizabeth Keller; and a brother, Edward Swaim and his wife, Dettie, of Myrtle Creek, Oregon.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Robert Swaim, Carl Swaim and Ralph Swaim.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Sunday, May 17, 2015, at the Seventh-day Day Adventist Church at 30 Gap Road in Batesville.
Arrangements are by Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville.
