Clinton Ira Morrison

of Harrison, AR

March 14, 1946 - April 25, 2015

Clinton Ira Morrison, age 69 of Harrison, went Home to be with the LORD on April 25, 2015 while in the home and under the care of Mercy Hospice. Clinton was born March 14, 1946 at Gray, Maine, the son of Ira and Janice (Doughty) Morrison. Clinton was preceded in death by his mother Janice Morrison.

Clinton maintained a dual membership in Bear Creek Springs Baptist Church and The Tabernacle in Branson, a Messianic-Jewish congregation. He has served as Sunday School teacher, Messianic pastor, teacher of Hebrew and Messianic Judaism classes, and organizer of the annual Feast of Tabernacles campout.

Clinton is survived by his loving wife of 39 years Laura Dubuisson Morrison of Harrison; son Christopher Clint of Louisiana; sister and brothers-in-law: Marcia and Gary Oser of Greenville, Ohio, Joanne and Phil Brown of The Villages, FL, Fay and Tom Phillips of Schroon Lake, NY; sister and husband Cheryl and Mike Shakespeare of Juneau, Alaska, and numerous nieces and nephews and grand-nieces and grand-nephews plus a host of other friends and loved ones. Clinton served in the United States Marine Corps as bodyguard for Secretary of State William Rogers during the Vietnam era. He earned his Doctor of Education degree from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. For over 20 years he served as Director of the Arkansas Baptist Boys Ranch of Harrison until his retirement.

On December 21, 1975 Clinton was united in marriage with Laura Ann Dubuisson of Gulfport, MS. He enjoyed gardening, maintaining a fruit orchard, traveling (especially to Israel,) teaching Torah study in the home, fishing and taking good care of his mom and dad next door.

Clinton had liver cancer for which he was placed on the liver transplant list by Barnes Jewish Hospital. He was permanently removed from the list in March because the cancer had advanced outside the liver wall.

Visitation for Clinton was at Bear Creek Springs Baptist Church Tuesday, April 28, 2015.

Funeral service was Wednesday, April 29 at Bear Creek Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Gary Oser officiating and assisted by Rev. Mark Enlow and Rabbi Jeremy Storch.

Interment was in New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery, Omaha. AR.

Pallbearers were Fred Dubuisson, David May, Scott Snowden, Russell Dubuisson. Raymond Helams, and J.T. Crawford.

For those that don't know and did not see the FB post, I was one of the first boys at the Arkansas Baptist Boys Ranch when Clint was its director. I remember him always on the go and mostly outworking each of us boys. However busy he was, he always made himself available if you needed him. Clint genuinely loved every one of us boys and personally expressed his interest in my well-being. I suppose most importantly he was consistent which was something all of us needed even though it was irritating at times.

I didn't realize how sick he was as I'd see these posts and he was usually so upbeat and smiling. Up to this point in my life I have not seen anyone pass with such grace and confidence. I'm saddened that I couldn't have told him in my own voice how much I love and appreciate him, but I am sure he knows and I'll say it anyway…

I love you Clint! And I love you too Laura and thank you for sharing him with us all those years. _\m/

Laura:
John and my sympathy is with you, but rejoice he is now with Jesus. We enjoyed knowing you two when you were at First Baptist many years ago.
May God give you comfort and joy during this time.

Love,
Gail Beth
