Betty Ann Parker

of Bryant, AR

April 4, 1931 - April 18, 2015

Betty Ann Parker was born on April 4, 1931 in Herbine, Arkansas. She died peacefully on April 18, 2015 surrounded by her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mabel and J.E. Goggans of Herbine, and a grandson, Logan Parker, of Bryant.

Betty was a longtime homemaker and later a businesswoman at Parker Chevrolet in Fordyce. The wife of a high school and college football coach, Betty was an avid sports fan. She supported her husband's teams and enjoyed friendships with coaches and their families. She was known as a wonderful cook and took great joy in preparing meals for loved ones. She passed on her passion for cooking to her family members by creating The Parker Family Cookbook. Betty appreciated nature's beauty whether it was in her flower gardens or traveling on many vacations across the country.

Married for 64 years, she is survived by her husband Jimmy Red Parker of Bryant, her three children, Vicki Wallace of Hot Springs, Cindy Yoos (Herman) of Columbia, SC, Jim Mack Parker (Robin) of Bryant, 6 grandchildren, Matthew Wallace (Tonya), Julie Hollis (Aaron), Lance Parker, Kristi Kendrick (Devin), Andrew Yoos (Sara), and Elizabeth Yoos (Marc), 6 great grandchildren, Taylor Wallace, Maddie Hollis, Parker Hollis, Anna Grace Hollis, Ella Parker, and Carter Kendrick. Also surviving are her four siblings, Lois Harris, James Goggans, Martha Crane, and Nancy Mitchell.

Special thanks to Saline Memorial Hospice in Bryant for their exceptional care and compassion during her final days.

In lieu of flowers, the family asked that contributions be made to the Logan Parker Memorial Scholarship Fund, Arkansas Children's Hospital, and the Saline Memorial Hospice, Bryant.

A visitation will be held at 10:00 at Pinecrest Memorial Park on Tuesday, April 21, 2015, followed by an 11:00 graveside service.

Service provided by Roller-Ballard Funeral Home in Benton (501-315-4047).

I am very sorry to hear of the loss of, Mrs. Parker. With all her accomplishments, her love and joys, she was an amazing woman! I won't pretend to know what you're going through, but what has helped me deal with the loss of those I love is turning to the Scriptures, something that has been a real source of comfort. One Scripture that gives me hope is John 11:25, which says, " Jesus said to her: “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who exercises faith in me, even though he dies, will come to life." I hope that this verse will also comfort you and, I hope you and your family can get through this difficult time. Please accept my condolences for the loss of your beloved wife, mother, grandma and friend. Sincerely, Meryl
