Norma Jean Smith of Batesville, AR passed away at her home on Wednesday, March 25, 2015.
She was born on May 22, 1936 in Piedmont MO, the daughter of Daisy Norma and Everett Ray Stowers.
Jean graduated from Benton Harbor High School in 1953. She worked at Michigan Bell Telephone Co. until moving to Batesville in 1964 where she then worked in manufacturing. She was an avid reader, loved knitting, movies and spending time with her family. She was a member of North Heights Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Charles Smith, her parents, and her sister Ester Lee Mutz.
Survivors include a daughter, Vicky Crouch of Batesville, and two sons, Bob Smith of Long Mont, CO, and Dr. Ken Smith of Russellville, AR; three grandchildren, Mika Richardson of Batesville, Craig Smith of Little Rock, and Lauren Smith of Fort Smith; four great-grandchildren, K-Leigh Richardson Smith of Batesville, and Kayla Richardson of Pleasant Plains, Laila and Lincoln Smith both of Little Rock.
Visitation is Saturday, March 28 at 1:00 p.m. followed by the service at 2:00 p.m. at North Heights Church of Christ. Burial will be at Sulphur Rock Cemetery under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville.

I'm so sorry for the families loss. Norma Jean and Charles were my buddies. Two of the sweetest people I knew. Love and miss them!!

A truly wonderful woman! She was everything we could ask for in a neighbor & friend. I miss her so much already. Maddie and I have enjoyed remembering moments with her and Mr. Smith. No one will ever take their place.
