Lera Ozell Godwin, age 96, of Helena, Arkansas passed away Saturday, March 14, 2015 at her home. Ms. Godwin was born November 27, 1918 at Addison, Alabama to the late Harvey Andrew Morgan and the late Cora Belle Alexander Morgan.
She is survived by a son, Dale Godwin (Vera) of Helena; six grandchildren, Pam Cooper (Lynn), Jimmy Ward (Deborah), Lesha Lederman (Wade), Nina Evans (Edward), Dale Godwin, Jr. (Vickie) and Chris Staton; fifteen great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren; three brothers, Marvin Morgan of Harrison, Arkansas, Bobby Morgan and Charlie Morgan, both of Louisiana; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two daughters, Robbie Staton and Barbara Garrett.
A graveside service for Lera Godwin will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at Sunset Memorial Park in West Helena. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 12:00-1:30 p.m. at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home. Brother Rodger Hooker will officiate.
Honorary pallbearers are Dale Godwin, Jr., Jimmy Ward, Ch
ris Staton, Wade Lederman, James Lederman, Dale Godwin, III, and Edward ''Bubba'' Evans.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Services will be directed by Roller-Citizens Funeral Home, West Helena, (870) 572-2571.
