James C. Zeigler, age 80, of Yellville, Arkansas passed away, Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at Creekside Nursing and Rehab in Yellville, Arkansas.

James was born February 18, 1935 in Bucyrus, Ohio to Carl David and Evelyn Elizabeth (Jacobs) Zeigler. He married Janet Marie Butte on July 1, 1956. Jim graduated from North Robinson High School and began working for Timken Roller Bearings on June 11, 1953; he retired from there after 43 years of service. While living in Bucyrus, he was very active in the community as a volunteer fireman with the Holmes Township Fire Department; he was a member of the Moose; and was also a member of the Great Lakes Appaloosa Horse Association, and the Ohio Appaloosa Association. After retirement, he and Janet retired to Yellville, Arkansas. Again Jim became very active in the community. He was on the Marion County Fair Board and was president for several years continuing on as advisor afterward. Jim was also a member of Ralph-Caney Volunteer Fire Department. After 20 years of living in Arkansas, he had made many friends and he called it home. He would help anybody out that needed it. His unofficial office was White Oak Station where he had his coffee every morning. Besides being a friend to many and never know a stranger, Jim enjoyed traveling, horses, the discovery channel, and the weather, and collecting model cars and trucks.

Jim is survived by his daughter, Colette Zeigler-Staley of Reynolds, Indiana;

son-in-law, Chris Staley;

a sister, Jeanette (Charlie) Hawkins of Johnson City, Tennessee;

a brother, John (Linda) Zeigler of Bucyrus, Ohio;

a sister-in-law, Ruth Leonard;

and several nieces and nephews.
He will be deeply missed by so many.

A memorial service will be 5:30 pm, Thursday, April 16, 2015 at Burns Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Kent Goodall officiating.

Our family sure thought the world of Mr.Ziegler. We lived behind him for a few years. Both my boys loved to visit with him. We are saddened to hear of his passing. Thoughts and prayers to each of you. He was a good man and will be missed by many.
