Melvin W. Long, Sr., 82 of Conway died February 7, 2015. He was born June 15, 1932 in Prim, Arkansas to the late Robert and Dora Long. Mr. Long was a member of the Full Gospel Non-Denominational Church, life member of the V.F.W. where he served as Chaplain. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Preceded in death are his parents, brothers: Charles Long, Robert Long, sister: Minnie Botoff, and son: Melvin W. Long, Jr.

Survivors include his wife: Mary Long, daughters: Debra Merker, Carol Price, grandchildren: Charles Merker, Dennis Merker, Christine Merker, Jason Price, Nathan Price, Elizabeth Long, Jackie Crowley, Melvin W. Long III, 9 great grandchildren, sisters: Mabel Sandstrum, Brenda Mason, brothers: Carl Long, Johnny Long, Thomas Long, Jimmy Long, several nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

A visitation will be held 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home, Conway. Graveside service will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, February 11th at Quattlebaum Cemetery, Bee Branch. Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675.
