of Little Rock, AR

January 10, 1930 - February 1, 2015

Dayle Britt Lester, 85, of Little Rock, walked into eternity on February 1, 2015. She was born January 10, 1930 in Grove, Oklahoma to John and Dorothy Cox (Goodman) Britt.

Dayle moved to Miami, Oklahoma as a senior in high school, where she met her husband of 57 years, Dr. Joe K. Lester. Dayle was preceded in death by her husband, her sister Sarah Louise Horton and four grandchildren, Elizabeth Ashton Lester, Jack Lester, Sam Williams and Abby Williams. She is survived by five children: Mary Lester, Ellen Lester Reif (Mike), Joe Lester, Jr. (Kathy), and John Lester (Jessica), Little Rock, and Carol Lester, Las Vegas, Nevada, nine grandchildren: Brittany Stalcup Wood, Lyndsay Lester Bell, Bethany Lester, Rebecca Reif, Will Reif, Rachael Reif, Maximillian Lester, and Nicholas Lester, Little Rock, and Courtney Lester - Zeljkovic (Llijac), Boston, Massachusetts and by four great-grandchildren: Audrey Seeds, Henry Wood, Luke Bell, and Alexia Bell Little Rock, .

The family appreciates the many years of kind and faithful care provided by Beverly Rice, who truly became, and will remain, a part of the family.

Faith and family were the hallmarks of Dayle's life. She was a wonderful, loving mother who led by example. A gracious hostess with a servant's heart, Dayle opened her home to numerous bible studies and prayer groups that were attended by scores of women over the years.

Most of all, Dayle wanted all to know that faith in Christ gave her life meaning and that the hope of heaven gave her peace. Dayle Lester left a legacy of faith, celebration, grace, and strength. She will be deeply missed and never forgotten.

Dayle was the first president of Women's Aglow in Little Rock, an international non-denominational fellowship organization and was also involved with Community Bible Study of Little Rock.

Almost every time I saw Dayle at church she would ask me.... are you going to sing my song... or sing my song for me..... Here it is 1 last time......

I know the Master of the Wind...
I know the Maker of the Rain...
He can calm the storm and make the sun to shine again.......
I know the Master of the Wind...........

Having heard so many Sweet Momma Dayle stories from her daughter, Mary, I know she must have been a wonderful and loving mother. Mary is such a dear friend and I know so much of Sweet Momma Dayle lives on through Mary. Please know you, her family, are in my prayers as we celebrate a life well lived.
