Samuel ''Sam'' Scott Abbott, 51 of Perry, Arkansas, went to be with the Lord Sunday, January 18, 2015. He was born January 29, 1963 in Memphis, TN. Sam was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Loran Abbott and Bonnie Gail Stotts Abbott.
Sam was of the Assembly of God faith and a veteran of the United States Army. He was employed at Rock-Tenn in Conway for 22 years. Sam was an avid hunter who also enjoyed fishing and listening to rock n roll music and he was very talented mechanically and enjoyed fixing things for others. Sam enjoyed spending time with his family and his co-workers.
Sam is survived by his son, Jeremy Scott Abbott (Alexandria) of Eads, TN, two stepsons, Devin Billington of Holland, AR and Seth Ward of Conway, AR, daughter, Alisha Smith (Shawn) of Arlington TN, one sister, Tracy Cooper (Justin) of Greenbrier, AR, five grandchildren, Jordan Smith, Greyson Smith, Raegan Evans, Leevi Evans and Noah Billington, and nephews, Chapman and Daniel Cooper.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday January 24, 2015 at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Conway (501)327-7727, with Pastor Steve Thrasher officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
I am so saddened by this loss. He was a neighbor, friend and such a giving kind hearted person. I am so sorry I missed his service.. Couldn't find out anything ...he will be missed dearly and was a very Godly man. He helped me a lot and we talked about the Lord on my front porch a lot. Prayers for all his family and friends.

We were all so sorry to hear about your brother. You have been so good about being the "BEST" sister anyone could ever ask for. (he was very lucky to have you). You were always there for him, and now he will be the one looking down from Heaven taking care of you!

Sam was my neighbor and my friend.. Before my husband died, he was more like family. We ate meals together and just hung out. After I lost Mike to cancer last May, Sam did his best to check ok me. He missed his friend and we cried a lot together... I am glad knowing he and Mike are together again.. Telling stories I am sure.. But big Sam is surely gonna be missed here.... Gone too soon....
Tracee I am so sorry to hear about Sam. I will always remember the fun we had growing up as kids and the laughs we shared as adults. You and your family are in my prayers.

I spent 15 yrs working in Conway at Rock Tenn with Sam. I have some very fond memories during that time. I pray God gives you all the peace and comdort that only he can. He certainly loved his kids and we talked of you often. I extend my prayers to the entire family. He will be surely missed.
