Kenneth ''Ken'' Larry Lamastus, born March 24, 1941 lost his long battle with cancer on December 9, 2014, and is now resting peacefully in the arms of the Lord. He leaves behind his devoted wife, Quy Nguyen Lamastus; his son, Shawn Lamastus and family; stepson, Austin McClure; and many loving extended family members and friends.
Ken retired in 2005, having served for 28 years with the Arkansas Medical Society, departing as the CEO of that organization. He was a long time member and past-president of the Arkansas Society of Association Executives (ASAE) and holds the Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation from the association. Ken received the Ken Graves Memorial Award for his exemplary work and service, not only in the profession of association management, but also in one's community. It is the most prestigious award for an association executive in Arkansas in recognizing a lifetime achievement. Ken also served as the Mayor of Maumelle and the Maumelle City Board of Directors.
Ken spent his retirement years enjoying his home on the Arkansas River with all that peaceful lifestyle afforded him boating, reading, history, and caring for his beloved dog, Masako.
Ken was a long-time member of Christ the King Catholic Church, 4000 N Rodney Parham Rd, where the services will be held on Monday, December 15, 2014. Visitation and Rosary will be held at 1:00 PM. Funeral Mass will be held at 2:00 PM with the procession to Riverwood Memorial Gardens in Maumelle to immediately follow. Should friends desire, contributions in Ken's memory can be sent to the American Cancer Society or to the American Heart Association.
Our hearts so broken because we couldn't be there I can't express how much I am sorry for your loss I loved uncle ken such a wonderful man and wonderful husband and Friend to all he met.His love for history and government was amazing. It was wonderful to know that a young man born in the country and raised by a great family kept him deep rooted and he never forgot the place where he came from .A Wonderful man he was.

I am so sorry for your loss. I have known Ken since I was in high school and he worked at the Hospital in Marianna. Then years later reunited with him as we both lived in Maumelle. He was such a kind and caring guy. He will be missed. You rar your family are in my thoughts and prayers.
