July 28, 1937 - November 29, 2014
Ralph James Ferguson, Jr. was born in Little Rock, Arkansas, July 28, 1937. Ralph was born into a family that instilled discipline and hard work and this was a platform from which he built his life. He attended St Patrick's Grade School and graduated Catholic High School where he excelled at football and dabbled in track and boxing. He discovered at a young age a talent and passion for golfing, beginning as a caddy at the nearby country club and over time became a life-time golfer (He was quite good!). Ralph went on to work on the Texas Eastern Pipeline and then began and ran his own businesses. He was very creative. Architecture and building were his passions; he spent many years as an independent, residential and commercial builder. He built his family's home that they enjoyed for many years and was very proud of this accomplishment. He also enjoyed art, antiques and travel and in between took an opportunity to work in Europe where he worked both as an inventory controller and jet engine mechanic with an air freight company in Brussels, Belgium. He traveled, visited museums and cathedrals (and indulged in Belgian chocolates every day!) He was a very loving and giving man and enjoyed sharing his experiences with his family. The family expresses a special thanks to his brother Tony Ferguson for all his love and amazing care. Additionally a heartfelt thanks to all the prayer teams and the nurses and staff at Arkansas Hospice at St. Vincent Hospital. He is survived by his ex-wife Patricia A. Ferguson and their three daughters, Sandra Ferguson,Jennifer Malone and Terri Boyd along with three grandchildren, Savanna and Jack Malone and Gavin Boyd who all loved him very much, as well as his brother, Tony Ferguson and three sisters, Sister Dianne Ferguson, R.S.M., Dianne Hudson and Judy Wright. Lastly, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Arkansas Hospice Foundation, 14 Parkstone Circle, North Little Rock, AR 72116. Visitation will be held at Roller Owens Funeral Home, North Little Rock, Wednesday, December 3rd; Rosary and Funeral Services will be at Immaculate Conception Church Thursday, December 4th.
