I was in A school with Joey in 67 / 68. Even though we were in diffent battalions, we ran across each other in Vietnam twice, once each deployment. We became quite close and the last time that I saw him was on my last deployment. He called me out of the blue a few months back and we have been trying to get together but did not make it. I had a private message session with him on Wednesday about t shirts. I am so srry for your loss and sorry that I did not get to visit with him. I only learned of this today. I would have been privaledged to ride with the "Guard" for him.

I hadn't seen Joey since high school but had reconnected with him on Facebook. He would come to our gigs in high school when our band played and would help me carry my drums and give me rides sometimes. When his buddy, Johnny Garner, started singing with our group he was there even more, and I would hang out with the two of them. Some of my memories of Joey inspired one of the characters in "Summertime Blues," my novel of growing up in North Little Rock. My heartfelt condolences go out to his family.

My deepest condolences go out to the family. I am deeply sorry for your loss. May you find comfort in the words found in Job 14:13,14. Look forward to a time when Jesus promised at John 5:28,29 "Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out....'
