Mrs. Crowe, of Paris, passed away Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at home. Her parents and one granddaughter Anna Virginia Redfern preceded her in death.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Dr. Murry Maxwell Crowe, of Paris, one son, Maxwell Thompson (Tom) Crowe of Paris, and three daughters Cheryl Virginia Crowe Adams and Delane of Winnfield, Louisiana, Susan Lea Crowe Clark and Carlton of Rayville, Louisiana, and Lauren Kaye Crowe Redfern and Robert of Danville, Arkansas. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Chad Adams and Carolee, Chris Adams and Marie, Lindsey Clark Lowe and Ryan, Max Clark, Jenny Redfern Fish and Daniel, Clay Redfern, Spencer Redfern, and Nicholas Redfern and eight great grandchildren, Jack Adams, Emily Grace Adams, Taylor Adams, Alex Adams, Logan Adams, Dawson Adams, Willa Rae Lowe, Guy Lowe, special friend, Wanda Keener and a host of friends and family.

Evelyn was born and educated in Paris Arkansas. She also graduated from Ouachita Baptist College (Ouachita University). She began teaching in the Paris Public School system where she met her husband, Max. They later lived nineteen years in Winnfield, La., where she taught kindergarten for eight years at First Baptist Church. They moved to Monroe, LA living seven years before returning to Paris in 1977.

Evelyn's legacy was her devotion to the Lord. Whether it was her decades of teaching Ladies's Adult Sunday School Classes, working at Vacation Bible Schools, or leading Mission Studies, she served faithfully until the Lord called her home. She loved her church and they in turn established The Evelyn Crowe Mission Offering in her honor for her commitment to the Women's Missionary Society.

A creative person, her talents were shared though entertaining, decorating, programs she led, and her watercolor paintings. Evelyn was an avid reader and she never met a stranger. She was also a member of PEO, a weekly painting group, and a past member of The Daughters of the American Revolution and Delta Kappa Gamma Society.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to her friends who rallied around her, and especially Peachtree Hospice of Fort Smith, AR, and to Dr. John Charles Smith.

On behalf of our family of volunteers over across the road at Community Outreach Services, I want to express our deepest condolences on Evelyn's passing. They stopped by frequently over the years for neighborly chitchat and so Evelyn could shop for frames for her artwork. Max would shake his head, saying Momma has forgotten how many she already had at the house!
She will be greatly missed. I'm glad I have several pieces of her art.

I loved Evelyn for many reasons: her talent, her joy, her goodness, her faithfulness, her humor, her laugh, her dedication, her generosity, her wit, her service . . .

I am so happy to have known her and learned from her because I saw in her words and actions a true servant's heart. Oh, how she will be missed!

May God bless all her dear family.
