Bonnie L. Fortson, 72, of Conway, passed away Friday, October 10, 2014. She was born February 8, 1942 in Alice, TX to the late Lec and Hazel Bluhm Dinges. Bonnie was also preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Gwyn Dow Fortson and twin brother, Billy Dinges.
Bonnie was a member of the First Christian Church in Conway. She retired after 25 years as a collection agent for Virco Manufacturing in Conway. Bonnie enjoyed traveling to casinos with her best friend, Kay Havens and spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her dog, Leroy who were the lights of her life.
Bonnie is survived by her daughter, Larae Benham and husband John; her son, Stephen Dow Fortson and wife Cindy; three grandchildren, Zachary Dow Harvey, Tanner Clayton Harvey, and Mia Lian Fortson all of Conway; four great-grandchildren, her sister, Patsy Green and niece, Denise Green of Austin, TX.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Conway (501) 327-7727, with Rev. Donna Rountree officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society, NCICFUL P.O. Box 102454 Atlanta, GA 30368-2454.
So sorry to hear about your mother. She was a sweet lady and I always enjoyed visiting with her at ballgames or wherever we happened to be.

We were very sorry to hear about Bonnie. I had the pleasure of working with her for many years. I am trying to make arrangements so I can honor her by attending her memorial service.
With deepest sympathy I write you. Bonnie was such a joy to have as a fellow church member. She was so pleasant and kind to everyone. She was very proud of her grandchildren. I looked forward to seeing her and will miss her greatly. She is now in the gentle hands of God. We pray for peace for all that knew and loved her.

Larae and Stephen, we were so shocked and saddened to read about your Mother. She was a wonderful person and will be missed by many. May God be with you in your time of need.
We are sorry that we will not be able to attend the services, but our thoughts and prayers are with the family. We knew Bonnie and Gwyn many years ago and know they will be missed by many.
