Guieda Centenio Tamburo, age 100, of Decatur, Illinois, formerly of Helena, Arkansas passed away on Sunday, October 5, 2014 at Imboden Creek Living Center.
Guieda was born on January 17, 1914 in Helena, Arkansas the daughter of John and Mamie Centenio. She married Sam Anthony Tamburo in Helena on June 30, 1947. They shared 38 years of marriage. Guieda was an excellent cook and enjoyed preparing her special Italian recipes for family and friends. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Helena for many years.
Surviving her are her two daughters, Gayle (Larry) Moffett of Decatur, Illinois and Sandra Johnston of Fayetteville, Arkansas. She had four grandchildren, Lara (Luke) Menard of Branson, Missouri, Jill (Nathan) Hardaway of Ft. Worth, Texas, Lindsay (Mike) Ripke of Batavia, Illinois and Ty Moffett of Decatur; great-grandchildren, Eliza and Blythe Ripke and Hope Menard.
Guieda was preceded in death by her parents, ten siblings and her husband.
The family would like to thank the entire staff of Imboden Creek Living Center, Dr. Dennis Vaughn and his staff, and Dr. Karuoiz for all the care and compassion given to Guieda during her journey.
Funeral services will be held in Helena, Arkansas with visitation on October 16 from 7:00-9:00 PM at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home and a funeral mass at St. Mary's Catholic Church on October 17 at 10:00 AM. Burial will be at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
Services will be directed by Roller-Citizens Funeral Home, West Helena, (870) 572-2571.
Aunt Guieda will always be remembered with fond memories. She was a beautiful lady in many ways.

To all of the Family I just want to say you have my deepest sympathy for the great loss of this Special Lady! Guieda and I shared a special relationship for so many years. She always told me if I did not do her hair when she passed away that she would haunt me everyday for the rest of my life!! I kinda felt like she meant it :)!
