Mrs. Virginia Barron, 69, of Jonesboro passed away on October 3, 2014 at NEA Baptist Medical Center. She was born April 7, 1945 in Alicia to Ernest and Mary Lee Foster. Mrs. Barron was retired from St. Bernard's Medical Center where she was an LPN. She enjoyed golfing, shopping, fishing and loved her family. She was of the Baptist belief.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John C. Barron; her parents, Ernest and Mary Lee Foster; two brothers Jack Foster and Raymond Chapman; and three sisters, Shirley Smelser, Sarah Foster and Lois Zigler.
Survivors include two sons John (Julie) Barron Jr., of Cabot and John Paul Barron of Jonesboro; four daughters Kathy (Jim) Mead, Pam (Jim) Pittman, Sue Gillean, all of Jonesboro and Ann Scheffler, of Louisiana; ten grandchildren, Dustin Barron, Paige Pittman, John Barron III, Elisha Barron, Jacob Mead, Stephanie, Renee, Cameron Gillean, Tina Gentry and Jamie Carter; a great-grandchild Lynnix Smith; two brothers Harold (Sylvia) Foster and Jimmy (Connie) Foster; and a sister, Betty Lou (Tab) Forkum.
Graveside services will be 11:00 am Monday at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery with Dale Davis officiating.
The family requests that lasting memorials be made to the American Heart Association, PO Box 841125, Dallas, TX 75284-1125 or the Diabetes Foundation, P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312.

Virg was a good nurse and I enjoyed working with her. She was a good friend and will be greatly missed.
I am so sorry for your loss. Virginia was a very caring nurse. I had her in nursing school. She was a good student. So willing and wanting to learn.
