Bernice Emmajean Harbison

of Dresden, TN

January 4, 1938 - September 14, 2014

In loving memory of Bernice Emmajean Harbison, age 76, of Dresden, Tennessee, who has departed this world for her eternal home in heaven on Sunday, September 14, 2014.

Bernice was born January 4, 1938 at Marianna, Arkansas to the late Luther Haynes and the late Geneva Wiser Haynes.

Bernice worked and gave tirelessly to support her family, always giving of herself freely and lovingly, never expecting anything in return. Bernice lived in the Helena-West Helena area for some 60 years before relocating to Dresden TN with her husband Troy. While living in Helena-West Helena, Bernice owned and ran the Donut Shop, Coleman's BBQ, and various other convenience stores and businesses. She enjoyed bowling and was on a local league for 20+ years.

Bernice served her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, in any capacity she could over the last 16 years of her life. She volunteered at her church's discount store and later at their thrift store and food bank, she regularly helped clean the church, organized periodic church dinners, kept a record of church attendance, parishioners birthdays and anniversaries and taught Sunday school. She never failed to drive the city of Greenfield on the weekly prayer drive and was one of the oldest remaining chartered church members of the First Pentecostal Church of Greenfield TN.

Bernice is survived by two sons and their wives, Troy & Janella Harbison, Tim & Sarah Harbison, and one daughter, Diann Moore, four grandchildren, Jeremy Fernicola, Timmy Jr and Aniston Harbison and Andrew Moore and two great grandchildren, William and Miranda Fernicola.

She was preceded in death by her parents and by her husband.

A service for Bernice Harbison will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, September 18, 2014 at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home in West Helena. We are told that those who have the Lord Jesus Christ in their heart are saved from the sins they committed while they were alive and that it would be your gain to pass away to go on to heaven to be with your saviour and king but for Christ gain you love to spread the gospel of the greatest story ever told that is what God did for mankind that he made a way back to the heavenly father thru Grace of the Lord of Lord's and the King of Kong's . Amen. A TRUE servant of the Lord will be missed here but now she is at home , her real home with her true love forevermore! AMEN !

My sister, Betty Murphree, was a good friend of Bernice's back when they were young girls. Our family was so poor that often times we would go to the Haine's house to eat pinto beans and fried potatoes. On Sunday after noons in the winter, I can remember Mr. Haine's taking us riding up around the St. Charles area just to look and enjoy the water and animals. Mrs. Haine's would pack baloney sandwiches and home made cookies. So good. We have been gone from West Helena for 40 years but We still remember how good the Haine's family was to us. Our love and prayers go out to your family. May God give you peace knowiIing Bernice was a Christian and is with our Lord and Master, Jesus Christ. We love all of you.

To Bernice's Loving Family,
I was so sorry to hear of the passing of my Friend and bowling buddy Bernice. Bernice always had a kind word for everyone. I know that she will be missed greatly by her family but you have the assurance of knowing that she is with her Lord and Savior now and no more pain or suffering. My prayer is that the Lord will wrap His loving arms around each of you at this difficult time and give all of you strength and comfort. May you all hold to the happy memories that you have of Bernice and know that one day all of you will be reunited in Glory. God Bless
