Jimmy Ray Taylor, age 80, of Harrison, passed away Monday, August 25, 2014, at his home. He was born April 1, 1934, in Bruno, Arkansas, the son of Will and Vinnie (Cooper) Taylor. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Rick Taylor; 2 brothers; and 2 sisters.
Jim loved to play his guitar as much as he could. His favorite country singer was George Jones. He loved watching his boys work in the garden and build things. He was a great dad who loved his kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids. Jim had a heart of gold and would give you the shirt off his back. He will be loved and greatly missed.
Jimmy is survived by his wife, Ruth E. Taylor, of the home; his daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy and Udell Kindal and Cindy and Charlie Jones; his sons and daughters-in-law, Tony and Laurel Taylor, Jerry and Sherry Taylor, and Brad and Rhonda Taylor; and his sister, Faye Nesler. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.
Visitation was Tuesday, August 26, 2014, at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home.
Graveside funeral service was Wednesday, August 27, 2014, at York Cemetery, Bergman, AR, with Bro. Mike Moore officiating.
Pallbearers were Jimmy's grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Jim will be missed alot . He was a good uncle.
