Today we lay to rest an honorable man to all who new him. He was born in a time when yes met yes and no met no and a man's hand shake and his word met more than any agreement on paper. A man that whether you worked for him or with him, you never new the difference. The lines were blurred with him, for he was right there beside you, sweat on his brow as well. he was a man of kind demeaner, quick wit and found humor in the most common everyday life senarios. He was an historian of the local area, of family linage, and land boundries. Many times were folks pointed towards him as the athourity on both.
He love his wife Mildred of 64 years cared for her tirelessly until her passing. along with the aid of the five respectable boys they raised. He loved his grand children and often affectionaly gave them nic names. I was fortunate enough to be one of those grand children. I set on his knee when I was small, was disciplined by him as a child. I worked along side of him as I grew older, and drew on his wisdom as an adult. To day I say goodbye to my Grandpa,a mentor, a friend, and one of my heros! He'll forever be thought of and missed.

To Our Smith Family,

Natalie and I sadly were unable to be there for the visitation and funeral, but our thoughts and prayers are with you all! We loved visiting with Great Grandpa-- he had a better memory than anyone we knew, and we loved hearing about his sweetheart, Mildred!

All of our condolences,
Abby (Smith) Ramirez and Natalie Smith
