Harold ''Gene'' Brown, 80, of Little Rock passed away Sunday, August 10, 2014. He was born September 25, 1933 to the late Glen Victor Brown and Velma Louise Hively Brown. He worked for many years as an industrial electrician and was a United States Marines veteran. He was a member of the Church of Christ and attended Pleasant Valley Church of Christ.

Gene is preceded in death by his sons, Gene Patton Brown and Neil Drake Brown; and his brother, Jerry Brown.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Carol Patton Brown of Little Rock; daughter and son-in-law, Caryn Michelle and Keith Smith of Little Rock; two granddaughters, Lindsey Brooke Holbert (Drew) and Erin Bray Rybak (Garrett); two great-grandchildren, Beau Andrew Holbert and Tessa Drew Holbert; sister-in-law, Sharon Counts (Pete); and brother-in-law, Robert Cooper (Cindy).

The family will receive friends 5:30-7:30 p.m., Tuesday, August 12th, 2014 at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home, 13801 Chenal Parkway, Little Rock, Arkansas 72211, (501) 224-8300. There will be a private family burial.

I am so sorry to hear about HG. I have many wonderful memories with your family and he is definitely and will always be a part of them. He treated me like one of his own and I will never forget that. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

B.C. and family, was deeply sadden by my good friend and race track buddies passing. I know he is in a better place and probably going over the racing form with Peanut right now.
