Billy George Hamilton, age 71, of Harrison, passed away Tuesday, July 29, 2014, in Little Rock with his family by his side. He was born June 10, 1943, in Harrison to George Athel and Billie Jean Hamilton.
Mr. Hamilton was a long time member of Bellefonte Baptist Church and lifelong resident of the Harrison area. He married Sharon Easter September 22, 1978, in Bellefonte and they celebrated 35 years of marriage together. He was a long haul truck driver for 28 years and recently retired. He enjoyed camping, cars and mowing anyone's grass. He was a ''nut'' who was lots of fun to be around and could make you laugh without trying. His family was his life and his dogs were his babies.
George is survived by his wife Sharon, of the home, a son James (Michelle) Methvin of Conway, Arkansas; four daughters: Lisa (Barry) Brown of Harrison, Gloria Taylor of Harrison, Brandy (Eric) Still of Lead Hill, and Meliah (Ben) Ross of North Dakota; a sister Margaret (Bob) Wells; and two brothers: Joe (Ina) Hamilton and Kenneth Hamilton, all of Harrison. He is also survived by six grandsons: Matthew (Kailey) Brown, Nicholas Brown, Joshua Brown, Seth Taylor, and Noah Ross and Ivan Ross; four granddaughters: Trinity Methvin, Alyssa Methvin, Emily Ross and Abigail Ross; three sisters-in-law: Rayanna (Harold) Hicks, Linda (James) Thomason and Carolyn Reynolds; his three dogs: Ginger, Pepper and Sherlock; and a host of nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ray and Mary Sue Easter.
Visitation was Friday at the church.
Funeral services was Saturday, August 2, 2014 at Bellefonte Baptist Church with Marshall Boggs officiating.
Pallbearers: His grandsons: Matthew, Nicholas and Joshua Brown and Seth Taylor, and nephews Roberts Wells and Craig Hicks.
Honorary Pallbearers: His nephews and nieces.
Interment was in Bellefonte Cemetery.
Donations may be made to the Ozark Humane Society in George's memory. 5149 Rock Springs Road, Harrison, AR 72601.
Very sorry to hear of George's passing. He was a dear co-worker to myself, my husband George, and my dad Ellis years ago at Claridge. Please accept my deepest sympathy.

He is my first cousin & I hadn't seen him in a long time, but remember when we were growing up we would always meet at Grandma & Grandpa Wilson's house on Sunday & have dinner and all the kids would play outside all day.
