Willis R. Gilbert, 95, of Mountain View, Arkansas passed away on July 27, 2014 at Stone County Nursing Home in Mountain View, Arkansas. Willis was born on November 9, 1918 to the late Oscar and Ollie (Woody) Gilbert in Timbo, Arkansas. Willis was a veteran of the United States Army and served his county in World War II. Referred to as Pa by his grandchildren he loved to watch his grandkids play basketball, loved to watch his wife Netta garden, loved to fish and loved to tell tall tales. Willis was also a mail carrier for many years.
Willis is survived by one son, Dwight H. Gilbert and his wife Sally of Mountain View, Arkansas; one brother, Hoover Gilbert and wife Olene of Mountain View, Arkansas; two grandchildren, Jason H. Gilbert and wife Kalie and Sarah M. Gilbert; and two great-grandchildren, Avery and Landry Gilbert.
Willis was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Ollie (Woody) Gilbert; wife, Netta J. Gilbert; grandson, Christopher Gilbert; four brothers, and two sisters.
A graveside service will take place on Wednesday, July 30, 2014, 10:00AM, at Timbo Cemetery in Timbo, Arkansas officiated by Tommy Williams.
Memorials may be made to Stone County Scholarship Fund, First United Methodist Church Scholarship Fund, or the Netta J. Gilbert Scholarship Fund at Ozarka College.

R.I.P. Uncle Willis! I always loved visits with you and Aunt Neta in the garden or on your front porch. I was always welcome and you had a dollar or quarters for me every visit.
