Doil Alexander Yocham

of Marshall, AR

May 14, 1924 - July 22, 2014

Doil Alexander Yocham, age 90 of Marshall, Arkansas died on Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at Highland Court Rehabilitation and Resident Care Facility in Marshall, Arkansas.
He was born on May 14, 1924 in Jayton, Texas to William and Lou Ola (Sherrod) Yocham.

Doil was a WWII veteran of the United States Army and served in the Pacific theater for the duration of the war. He was wounded twice and was awarded the Purple Heart. He married Nancy Ruth Harrell of Marshall, Arkansas on May 24, 1942. After his discharge from the Army, they lived in Marshall for two years. When Doil decided he liked construction better than farming they moved to Arizona. There he pursued his love of building. His construction projects took him and Nancy all over the world. Their son, Gary, was born in Phoenix, Arizona in 1944 and their daughter, Bronwyn was born in Fairplay, Colorado in 1956. Doil was known for his work ethic, attention to detail and ability to manage and coordinate multiple disciplines. The people that worked for him always considered him a friend. Doil had two passions in life, building projects that had never been done before and his family. He was an exemplary warrior, father, husband and friend. Nancy was the love of his life and he expressed that on a daily basis.

Doil is preceded in death by his parents and all his siblings.

Survivors include his wife Nancy, son, Gary Yocham and wife Bonnie, daughter Bronwyn King and husband Bob, several grandchildren, great grandchildren and an extended family of nieces and nephews across the United States, all of whom will miss the presence of a true family patriarch.

Funeral services for Doil will be 2:00 PM Saturday, July 26, 2014 at Roller-Coffman Funeral Home in Marshall, Arkansas with Brother Sean Milliken officiating. Burial will be in Marshall Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Michael Flowers, Sean Yocham, John King, Ralph Patterson, Bob King and Gary Yocham.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Western Horse Heritage Foundation, 3262 S. Hwy 27, Marshall, AR, 72650. The family would like to express their deep appreciation for the care given to Doil by Legacy Hospice employees and the staff at Highland Court Rehabilitation and Resident Care Facility.
