It sure does hurt my heart to hear the news of yet another of our loved ones moving on to heaven. I'm so very grateful for the trip that I was able to make to Arkansas with my own dearly long departed Grandmother Jerusha Myrtle (Mallett) Sims, Grandfather Alpha C. Sims, and Uncle Gary N. Sims, back in the summer of 1993/1994. Such a lovely pleasure and a privilege to have been able to meet and spend time with kinfolk that I have been loving and missing my whole life. I sure enjoyed every one of you that I was fortunate enough to visit with. Especially, I'll never forget Aunt Kathryn's fresh picked fried okra and her home-canned creamed corn from the garden! I still have the precious hand-embroidered, wall-hanging that she gifted my family decades ago when I was born. It hangs on my bedroom wall to this day and is one of my very most prized possessions. I will never forget and never stop loving my people, either here or there. I only wish we could have had more days like those that I remember, sitting in the sunshine, knowing deep in our souls how we are truly blessed to be part of such a wonderful family. Things just aren't the same when our elders pass. Moments in time that we are left to treasure. Such beautiful memories. My heart goes out to you all, near and far. May you all continue to be blessed and take comfort in remembering all that we have enjoyed thus far. Keeping you in my prayers always, Elizabeth H. Sims-Day (eldest grand-daughter of Clyde & Jerusha Sims, eldest daughter of Tommy Joe Sims)
