Virgil L. Luke, 95, of Lamar died July 3, 2014. He was born January 7, 1919, in Kirk, Colorado. He retired as co-owner of Luke and Vondey Jewelers of California. He was a Navy Veteran of World War II, a member of the Clarksville Rotary Club, volunteered for several service organizations, such as Helping Hands, and was a long time member and served in many official positions in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Virgil enjoyed traveling, golfing, working in his church and his community and being with family members. Virgil was preceded in death by his parents; two wives, Nanette Luke and Marie (Bennett) Luke; and one stepdaughter and husband, Linda and Bob Bussey.
He is survived by one son, Gregory Luke; two granddaughters, Jennifer and Stephanie Luke; one sister, Lois Leuch, all of California; one stepdaughter, Karen Vanzant and husband, Clarence; three step grandsons, Jared Looper and wife, Cassandra, of Bentonville, Mikel Kinman and wife, Shelia, of Clarksville, and Lee Kinman and wife, Erika, of Lamar, who took care of Virgil and Marie in their home for several years; and seven step great grandchildren.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Monday, July 7, 2014, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home. Mr. Luke's funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 8, 2014, at the Clarksville Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, with Bishop J.D. Griggs officiating. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be church members.

We are sorry that Bro. Luke has passed. He was a kind, cute man. We enjoyed taking him to church several times. We hope that his family is blessed with comfort and peace at his passing.
