John (JR) Holman, 84, of Cash, passed away Monday, June 30, 2014 at St. Bernards Hospital. JR was born April 11, 1930 to Bond and Clarcia Holman. He loved fishing, hunting, visiting with family and friends. He was a hard worker having retired from General Motors after 32 years. JR also served in the U.S. Army.
JR is survived by his wife, Patsy Holman and his cat, Spooks, of the home; a daughter, Laverna Patton of Jonesboro; loving grandchildren, Jeffrey Davis, Andrew Patton and Chelsea Patton; great grandchildren, Anthony Davis and Aaron Jobe; four sisters, Linda Montgomery of Cash, Shirley Presley of Calamine, Mildred O'Dell of Tuckerman and Glenda Lackey of Cash; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Rick and Carolyn Jobe, and Ricky and Tasha Jobe.
In addition to his parents, JR was preceded in death by four brothers, Doyle, Frank, Edward and Billy Ray Holman; and a sister, Bonnie Pierce.
Visitation will be 6-8pm Wednesday at Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home, 1900 West Washington Avenue in Jonesboro.
Graveside services will be 3 pm Thursday at Trinity Cemetery with Gerald Goza officiating.
Pallbearers will include Rick Jobe, Ricky Jobe, Gene Montgomery, Trent Jones, Jason McLeod, and Dylan McLeod.
