George Cornelius Smith, Jr., 67, of Jonesboro, passed away on Monday, April 14, 2014 at his home. He was born August 1, 1946 to George C. Smith, Sr. and Clyde Ella Nelson Smith. George was a retired auto body man and a minister. He was of the Pentecostal faith and served in the U.S. Air Force.
George is preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his son, Schleen David (Christine) Smith of Paragould; two grandchildren, Schleena (Jacob) Jackson and Starla Smith; two great grandchildren, Evey Jackson and Desmond Jackson; and a sister, Barbara Ann (Jimmy) Smith of Meridian, MS; a niece, Norella Bouchard; and a nephew, Gary Don Dacus Jr..
Visitation will be 5-7 pm Wednesday at Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home, 1900 West Washington Avenue in Jonesboro.
Chapel services will be Thursday 2 pm at the funeral home with Rev. C.L. Robinson , Ed French and Tony Robinson officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery.
Pallbearers will include Gary Dacus, Jr., Willis Brumley, Steve Russell, Alan Armstrong, Cloyce Robinson and Tanner Brewer.
I only met him sunday but his message touched me and he prayed over me and was spot on I will cling to what he said so proud he spent the day with us

Jr. was a good friend. We worked together and preached together. He always was encouraging and uplifting. I lost a great friend but I know that he is in the presence of the Lord. We are praying for the family.
