Dear Mrs. Goodwin, Jerry, Bill and Family
We are so very sorry for your loss. I was just a child when you all moved to Damascus and Bro. Goodwin became our pastor. I remember what a great pastor he was and what a good and loving pastor's family you all were the five or so years you were here. We always enjoyed seeing you again (usually at funerals) and tried to keep up with where you all were and how you were doing. Your family is in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time, but we celebrate with you the home going of a faithful spiritual warrior! We love you all!

Besides being my uncle, he was one of my dearest friends. I am so happy for him to be home with our Lord, but he will be missed.
I was very sad to hear the passing of Rev. Goodwin. I was in Salem Rehab when he was and met him and his wife. They were such wonderful people. I enjoyed very much when they joined us for a meal and got to visit with them. I will be praying for the family. He is now out of pain and suffering and getting to see Jesus face .. What a glory that is ..
Mrs. Goodwin (I am the one who was there because of knee replacement)

Clestine and Family:
My heart is sad today, but happy because I know Bro. Goodwin made his transition to that wonderful place called Heaven. Yes, we will see him again where there is no pain, worries over the world problems,or our health deteriorating. What a home going there was on Monday. We have precious memories as friends and of Bro. Goodwin's Ministry. God has been good. Praying for safe traveling of your family and friends. Praying for God's comfort and blessings for you. Love Austin and Betty
We will miss you Grandpa. Love you Grandma

Mr Goodwin was a very kind and good person. He would stop and see us at the store in Beebe when he was taking campers to the New Orleans area after the hurricane. It was always good to see him walk they the door. Mrs Clestine, you are a wonderful person too, so kind and helpful, you helped me so much with my mother, Oleva Goodrich Rowlett, during her last days. May God be with you, you will be in my thoughts and prayers.

With deepest sympathy to the family of my second cousin and former pastor. Winfred's grandmother, Mattie, was a half sister to my grandfather. Mattie McNew Goodwin McClain, William Henry McNew, and Josie McNew Miller were the McNew orphans who were raised by William McNew (cemetery founder).
